Lack of Importance

During Juan’s conversation with his mother, he was obvious he didn’t care. “She was near death, and I would have promised her anything” he stated, he didn’t care to follow through his promises, because either he was lazy or he didn’t care enough about her to. “Don’t fail to go see him”, said his mother, she knows he doesn’t care about what she wants, that he probably won’t do what she asks. While he was repetitive with his promises, he was indirectly declaring over and over he doesn’t care to. Juan’s mother said to go see Pedro (his father) because “all those years he put us out of his mind”, she wants love and recognition from Pedro. Juan doesn’t care to seek it.
