The Dead Pedro blog #1
The book starts out with Juan's mother's last words to him before she dies. This holds the starting action to Juan's quest to find his father. Since death appeared predominately in this whole first page, we can assume that it could be a motif for the rest of the novel. The section seems quite straightforward and rather clear, and in contrast to the rest of the novel because of the fragmenting of narratives. From the injection of commas in Juan's words, it can be shown as a sign of hesitation to the reader, as in "I will, Mother" which he never meant to kept initially ( Rulfo 3).

This is an interesting start. What is the significance of the fact that this portion is more clear than the remaining pages? Try to take some of your ideas and flesh them out a bit.
