The Assault Passage Analysis
The obvious juxtaposition in the passage is the light versus dark and love versus hate. Anton describes the love is light and hate is dark. However he goes on to say that it isn't necessarily that black and white. Those who are in the "light" do not love everyone and everything, they hate those who hate. Those who follow the dark, "hate in the name of darkness."(38 Mulisch) So the people who hate the dark are just because they hate in the name of good and light. Anton reveals that if those who follow the light always loved they would never be able to fight the darkness saying "We've got to become a little bit like them in order to fight them."(38 Mulisch) By this, Anton asserts that not everyone is just good or just bad, all people are both good and bad. People will always feel they follow the light and the others follow the darkness.

The speaker is the communist woman, not Anton :) I liked this part, "By this, Anton asserts that not everyone is just good or just bad, all people are both good and bad." This is where you get to the "so-what" part of it. Do more of that.
