"It was a fine feeling indeed to be standing up here like that, with the sound of summer all around one and a light breeze on one's face. And I believe it was believe it was then, looking on that view, that I begin for the first time to adopt a frame of mind appropriate for the journey before me. For it was then that i felt the first healthy flush of anticipation for the many interesting experiences I know these days ahead hold in store for me. And indeed, it was then that I felt a new resolve not to be daunted in respect to the one professional task I have entrusted myself with on this trip; that is to say, regarding Miss Kenton and our present staffing problems." This occurs when Stevens has just barely started driving on his journey and he comes across a man in a white hat. The man tells him to climb the hill to look at the view. At first Stevens is timid because he feels if the view is too beautiful then everything else that he sees won't compare to this view. When he finally gets to the top he find the view is marvelous. This gives him as he says a new view on the trip he is currently endeavoring. This occurs because before he hadn't really left Darlington Hall and he is very weary about leaving the home unoccupied. He is very dedicated to his job and strives to be a "great" butler. This is significant because it shows the change Stevens starts to experience at this point in the novel.
This is also significant because he mentions Miss Kenton. His relationship with her is a very unusual one. They appear to have very strong feelings for each other but as each are very focused on their duties they act very strange around each other. This is the second time he mentions her and when he does so in the present he speaks very fond of her but when he speaks of their past together they seem to rather despise one another. This is important because this shows that the beauty of the countryside makes him think of her and gives him a new determination to see her.
The first few sentences are all summary (you're just paraphrasing what is going on in this passage). Instead of spending time summarizing, get right to the analysis. Also, try to work on your sentence fluency/variation so that you aren't just stating what happens and then saying "This is because."
